CAN-DO 2016 Cycle Action Network Annual Conference
Saturday March 19th 2016 at 8:00am
Location: Waikato Museum | Te Whare Taonga o Waikato
Next year’s CAN-Do will be a bit special for two reasons. Firstly there’s the new emphasis of advocacy this year – celebrating the new-found energy of the NZTA in dispensing the Urban Cycleway Programme funding and backing cycling growth generally, instead of our traditional calls for investment. Also it’ll be a turning-point of sorts for CAN, featuring the results of a root-and-branch review of how we operate, more new faces on Committee, and a fresh new look for our branding and website.
Our is theme ‘Cycling Renaissance’, as we are now living in a rapidly-changing scene, a year on from those game-changing UCP announcements. So I know you are all passionate about getting more people on bikes more often and you want to ensure that $333 million of funding is being well spent. This years speaker line up as been shaped around these pillars.
The outline for the CANDO 2016 is:
18th March social dinner on Friday night (self funded)
19th March main speaking day
20th March half day with CAN AGM.
Cycling tour of Hamilton in the afternoon
21/22nd March Waikato river trail (self-funded – but we will do the logistics)
Keep an eye on can.org.nz/cando2016 for more information! The registration form will be up early next month.
P.S .. I (Claire Moava Sherrington ) am looking for a key sponsor too, please PM me if your keen 🙂
